The great commandment given by Jesus is a consequence of Monotheism, the belief that there is only one God. The law first given by Moses told that God is One, and is God of All. However it was not until Jesus, His life, death, resurrection, and communicating that event in the Eucharist, that we were to encounter and receive the Love of God for us, that transforms us making us one with Him and His Love and thus with one another. Let us give God Thanks, Eucharist!

Like the disciples in the Gospel today, we too can be unaware of what God has done for us in Jesus Christ, and why we say He is the Messiah, God, Savior and just how is it that we are saved. Of all world religions, Christianity is unique. It is the only one announced before hand by God. It is the only one founded by a human claiming to be God. We are saved not by our own effort, but by God's with whom we are called to be in relationship with, to know, to love, and to follow.

You heard it said much today that you can do anything you put your mind too. Although this message can do much good, the message today is that all things are possible ONLY with God. That is things according to His will, and with His help. What Good is it if we gain the whole world, yet in the process loose our soul? Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these other things will be provided as well. Seek the Wisdom of God, Jesus, and follow Him.
