Sunday Jan 14, 2024
Sunday Jan 14, 2024
Jesus asked the question today in the gospel, ”What are you looking for?” It’s a fundamental human question that we cannot answer on our own but God will lead us to the answer if we follow him. Like Cephas went to Jesus, and he changed his name to Peter and built his church upon that rock, God wants to continue building the church through you. You are a rock. A stone in his church, on which he wants to continue to build. He wants you to be a rockstar!

You often heard it say it today that you don’t have to go to church or acknowledge Christ but if you’re a good person you will go to heaven. Christ definitely wants all people to go to heaven, that’s why he died, but for all of us, good or bad alike, we have to acknowledge that we are sinners, and do his will. No matter how good we are, we still fall short. Heaven can’t be earned it’s only offered to us all by God’s mercy, we can only except it, not earn it.
