A Pathway to Discipleship is Like the Road to Emmaus (Lk 24:13-35)

The Lord reveals himself to us in many of the same ways He revealed himself to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. They knew about the Jesus event, but it did not direct their path in life. But they wanted more of what this stranger seem to be telling them, so they invited Him into their home. God respects our free will, and is waiting for us to invite him into our hearts so that as the book of revelation 3:20 tells us if we invite him in, if we urge him to stay with us, if we open the door, he will come in and dine with us, and we will have communion with him; a deep relationship that sets our heart on fire, so that we want to share Him with others. 

God Offers Us His Divine Mercy Today, As He Did Long Ago(Jn 20:19-31)

God forgives us through Jesus Chris's life  death, and resurrection, and gives us eternal life. But Mercy is more. It is the extent to which God went to do this in Christ Jesus, and that same Divine Mercy is shown to us to today! Let us rejoice and be glad!

The is a Power Greater Greater Than Our Own (Jn 20:1-9)

Today we rely on our own power. We still are building a Tower of Babel, and worshiping the golden calf, when the greatest power ever known goes un-utilized. The power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us.  

We Are Freed from All that Holds us Back, because Jesus is The Resurrection ( Jn 11:1-45)

Jesus confronts the last enemy, and frees us from all that can hold us back even death itself. This frees us to live boldly in the light. 

To See with God’s Eyes (Jn 9:1-41)

The Holy Spirit not only gives us the power to act like we ought, and love in difficult situations, but can also even change the way we see a situation; to see it more like God sees it. Let us pray for the gift to see our self, others, and the world as God sees it, and the courage to respond to what we see as God would.

Jesus Teaches about Prayer Sacrament and Relationship (Jn 4:5-42)

In the Gospel passage about Jesus meeting the woman at the well, we can learn how through prayer, participation in the form of worship of Jesus established (the Sacraments ) we grow closer to him in a life-changing relationship. 

We Need More Abrahams: Live of Mission and Purpose (Mt 17:1-9)

God called Abraham to step out in faith, from his comfortable home, to an unknown future to be a blessing to others. In the Gospel Jesus is revealed as the Way the Truth and the Life, and today’s passage, we are instructed to listen to Him. The world needs more Abrahams, that is those who are willing to step out in faith to live a life in response to God’s voice, and to be a blessing to the nations.  This is how God answers our prayers for a better world.  

Jesus Wins the Battle We Lost, and Now Shares the Victory with Us (Mt 4:1-11)

On the first Sunday of lent, Jesus enters into the desert to battle with the devil, the same struggle our ancestors lost. Christ, however, is victorious and shows us how to be victorious too.

The Most Challenging Teaching of Jesus: But Possible if We Know God’s Love (Mt 5:38-48)

Jesus continues His Sermon on the Mount by calling us to the highest possible standard to love everyone even our enemies. This is indeed challenging, and not possible for human beings, but made possible in the love God offers us in Jesus Christ.

In Jesus We Have More Than The Law: We Have the Power to Live It (Mt 5:17-37)

The law only served a purpose until Jesus came, it limited sin’s effect. But with Jesus, we have the remedy for sin, he transforms our heart, and that allows us to live the law, and go beyond.
